Rapid expansion & reliable operation of charging stations with remberg

Use Case: Service
Type of Assets: Energy Systems & Utilities

About the company: eliso, based in Stuttgart, specializes in the installation and operation of state-of-the-art charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in public spaces and plays a key role in shaping the future of electric mobility.

The challenge

Efficient charging infrastructure for the future

The charging infrastructure for electric cars in Germany is growing rapidly. For eliso, a subsidiary of VINCI Concessions, this is creating exciting opportunities and complex challenges. An important project in this context is the Deutschlandnetz: eliso is responsible for the planning, installation and operation of 828 charging points at more than 100 locations throughout Germany. These public charging stations, which are equipped with up to 16 state-of-the-art charging points with a capacity of up to 400 kW, position eliso at the forefront of development in the field of ultra-fast charging. In addition, a similar number of further charging points will be installed in the next few years, in addition to the German network.

“Our job requires a high degree of efficiency to ensure transparent and scalable processes right from the start,” explains Michael Ritter, system engineer at eliso. After all, with each new charging station, not only the number of customers increases, but also the maintenance requirements and the number of potential fault reports that have to be solved by the team of experts.

To ensure smooth commissioning and efficient troubleshooting, eliso was looking for an integrated and future-proof system that could keep pace with growing demands.

The decision

The right choice for efficient service processes

The eliso team was therefore faced with a far-reaching decision when it came to finding a suitable CMMS tool for the service-side support of the growing charging infrastructure.

The central system requirements for reliably recording all incidents included an integrated ticketing system with an intuitive user interface, clear status displays, diverse and customizable data fields, integrated chat function and API interfaces. In addition, important aspects such as material and warehouse management, a clear asset management with comprehensive data collection and location tracking, as well as an efficient work order and employee management system with which external partners could also be controlled were added.

After a detailed comparison with another software and an intensive evaluation phase, eliso decided to use the remberg Asset Platform. “Within two weeks, over 1,000 charging points had been imported into the remberg Asset Platformand a short time later we went live, so that we have all requests and reports regarding our charging stations centrally in a modern service solution,” said Felix Schnorr, system engineer at eliso.

The result

Digital tools for the expansion of the charging infrastructure

At eliso, the processes for commissioning, maintenance and service are now integrated into the remberg Asset Platform: “The digital checklists, which are used by our technicians via smartphone or tablet, ensure that no detail is overlooked,” explains Schnorr.

The software also proves its worth when faults occur: every report is quickly recorded, prioritized by the eliso service team and forwarded to the technical department for repair. The technical department in turn documents the malfunction, the measures taken and the spare parts installed in the respective digital lifecycle file. “With these improvements, we are making a decisive contribution to the energy transition in Germany by not only expanding the infrastructure for electric mobility, but also by designing it to be intelligent and future-proof,” concludes Schnorr.
